07:17 AM ET 10.16 | In a small bit of good news in an otherwise disappointing training camp development for the rookie point guard, Trey Burke underwent successful surgery Tuesday afternoon to repair his fractured right index finger. Burke's injured finger has been placed in a "cast/splint," the Jazz said in a statement. His condition will be re-evaluated in three weeks. Utah opens the regular season Oct. 30 against Oklahoma City. With Burke out, the Jazz have talked to veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley about a return to the team. Tinsley, 35, spent the past two seasons in Utah. He played in 103 games, including 33 starts. "There has been mutual interest," Raymond Brothers, Tinsley's agent, told The Tribune. Said coach Tyrone Corbin: "He has some interest, we have some interest. ... He's a guy who knows our system."

Dumb from both sides. They both need each other so why wasn't he sign at the beginning?

He wasn't signed in the beginning because Utah had Burke to play back-up point.

Now , with Burke being injured.........

Another player when he was in his prime was a helluva PG. Just happen to be on a PACERS team that was a walking cancer. Larry Legend then proceeded to screw him by not trading him away thus killing his career. Don't expect much from him at 35 years old. The skill set is most likely a shell of what it use to be, but I guess he can hold it down until Burke recovers. All I can say is that Utah could have done worse, like holding on to Mo Will.
