Best start of Sid's career

07:29 AM ET 10.16 | On Tuesday night in Pittsburgh, the Oilers managed to bounce back twice from two-goal deficits, but they eventually fell to yet another loss. "That team's going to be really good in a couple of years," Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik said. Of course, the one Orpik plays for already is. The Penguins are 5-1, in part because Sidney Crosby is off to what he considers the best start of his career. He assisted on all three Penguins goals against the Oilers to run his points total for the season to 12 and seize sole possession of first place in the NHL scoring race. Crosby has at least one point in each of his first six games, matching his personal-best set as a rookie in 2005-06. That season, however, he put up just nine points in the first half-dozen games, three fewer than he has now.

He's gonna have to keep playing that good if the Pens are gonna keep up with the Leafs in the east!

He's got a good start til BGM comes along and keeps jinxing him. ;)

I noticed that a certain recent Norris trophy winner is off to a pretty fair start as well.

8 points, +6, high ice time.

I think he's still celebrating the Blue Bombers' third win. :-)

3 Leafs have 8 points. 3 more have 6 or more. And David Clarkson hasn't even played a game yet.Have 3 Hart Nominees ever come from the same team?

I noticed Eller, Gallagher and Galchenyuk up there too.....

That was a pretty spirited game last night. And, I think the Pens were lucky. They won it because MAF was a just little bit better than Jason Labarbera. Yikes!

Since he is in the Metropolitan Division now, does that make him a Metro-sexual?

Crazy thing is ... they haven't looked 'really' good so far. They are winning but, not looking very good doing it. Some of those wins were 'ugly' wins and, like the one against the Oilers, they were just plain lucky Dubnyk was in net. Their D will become a concern soon if they don't tighten it up.
