Pats' leading tackler done for the year

07:16 AM ET 10.16 | So much for good news on the Patriots' injury fronts. Jerod Mayo will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery yesterday to repair a torn pectoral muscle, according to a source. It's another devastating blow for the defense, which already lost defensive lineman Vince Wilfork for the year with a torn Achilles tendon. Mayo is a force against the run and leads the team with 55 tackles. He left the game in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-27 win over the Saints, converging on a pass play. ... The Pats also lost in the game wide receiver Danny Amendola and guard Dan Connolly to head injuries, and cornerback Aqib Talib with a hip injury. The Pats could be without three of their best players -- Wilfork, Mayo, Talib -- Sunday against the Jets.

They're torn to shreds by injuries and, well, murderers, but they keep finding ways to win.

By this point of the season every NFL team has significant injury issues.
It happens every year and the teams that have roster depth are the playoff teams.

I'm still picking them over the Jets this weekend.
