Kaepernick fueled by snubs

07:15 AM ET 10.17 | Up first in Colin Kaepernick's barnstorming revenge tour is Tennessee. Starting with Sunday's game against the Titans, the 49ers' next three opponents drafted a quarterback in 2011 before Kaepernick was selected at No. 36 overall. Kaepernick had a pre-draft visit with the Titans, who selected Jake Locker with the No. 8 pick. Do those two-year-old slights fuel Kaepernick? ... What do you think? "It's something that I definitely haven't forgotten," Kaepernick said. Sunday's game will mark the first time Kaepernick has started against one of the five teams that bypassed him in favor of another quarterback in 2011. After this week, the 49ers' next opponents are Jacksonville (Blaine Gabbert, No. 10) on Oct. 27 and Carolina (Cam Newton, No. 1) on Nov. 10.

Anyone happen too know when Alex Smith was taken in the Draft?

The guy the 9ners traded too the Chiefs?

They're not too shabby at the moment.

Sounds like he is taking a page out of the Tom Brady Snub Playbook. Check out all the dead wood taken before him in the draft.

There ya go!

And he certainly made believers out of everyone.

What has he done?

He's already been to the SB. I don't think any of those other guys will have that on their headstones when they retire.

He's done enough that he'll be inducted into the Foot Ball hall of fame ,When he retires.

That doesn't matter. NFL Network is already working on their "The Kap 3" episode of "A Football Life"

Lol! Good one!

Example Dan Marino.

,But he is in the FHOF.

October 17, 2013  08:25 AM ET

He should save his fire for Russell Wilson, who also would have been picked ahead of him had he been in the 2011 draft

You're asking a lot for Kappy to put up Marino numbers.

The difference, though, is that Russell Wilson is actually better than Kappy.

October 17, 2013  08:57 AM ET

Enough with this tired old angle. Jeesh! 32 teams passed him over in the first round. His own team did not take him as they chose " Aldon Smith" with their first pick.

Revenge snubbing will get you now here. You can play or you can't and all drafts are organized gambling reality shows.

Not unless they change the type of offense they run.

THe one thing lacking from the 49er offense is a WR who can put up big YAC numbers. So far this season Boldin has been double covered a lot and when he does catch the ball there are not a lot of YAC . The WR's they have used to fill in for Crabtree, who by the way is no speed burner and only gets moderate YAC, have been total duds, that leaves Vernon Davis.

Imagine if the 49ers had not been offered Boldin in a trade? Things would be really bad in SF. All a team has to do to lock down SF is double team Boldin and Davis and have everyone else go after Gore.

October 17, 2013  08:58 AM ET

The whole "snubbed" motivation is always overblown. There's plenty of people in every draft who can make the same claim, if not on the same scale

I see. Well then, no sense picking a fight with someone who is tougher than you

He should be happy. He got drafted by a team that lost in overtime in the NFC Championship game and returned their whole team. Ya think if he ended up in Jacksonville he would have been as successful? No bloody way. He and Wilson don't have to put the game on their shoulder, their defenses are so good every thing changes for the QB. Add in they both have great running games and there are 16 QBs in the NFL who could win with those teams.
