07:19 AM ET 10.17 | Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski has long admired the work of Bulls star Derrick Rose -- so it should come as little surprise he'd like to see Rose represent his country in Rio. When asked specifically whether he would like to see Rose on the Olympic team, Krzyzewski said he was excited about the possibility, assuming the point guard's surgically repaired left knee holds up throughout this NBA season. Rose is just returning to the floor after missing almost a year and a half as he recovered from an ACL tear in his left knee. "Oh yeah," Krzyzewski told ESPNChicago.com. ... "[Derrick] was our starting point guard when we won the world championships in Istanbul in 2010 and did a really good job. He was only 21 years old at that time and probably would have been on our Olympic team in London."

Rose looked good last night, 22 points in just 22 minutes and he looked like he had his old explosiveness.

He definitely has been looking great out there on the court and he is certainly answering a lot of the questions about whether or not he could come back and do the things that made him great in the first place. He is stronger, finishing through contact and better at the rim and jumping even higher than he was before.

Coach K should want him. He is the best pg in the game.

Avoiding setbacks was the reason he sat out the entire season/playoffs last year. That setback hurdle has been cleared.

and then TAKE THE NEXT SUMMER OFF to heal a freshly repaired knee.it is a mockery if he EVER plays international exhibitions againhis priority should be the bulls and doing everyting in his power to honor that mega contract he signed

And the parade of armchair quarterbacks continue to give their unsolicited advice on how to recover from a traumatic injury and play MVP basketball in response to a post about Olympic basketball...
