Patterson mum on Pachall's prognosis

07:25 AM ET 10.17 | Back in August, TCU coach Gary Patterson spoke highly of redshirt freshman quarterback Tyler Matthews, but he hasn't yet taken over for Trevone Boykin in Casey Pachall's absense. Patterson said Matthews likely would play a few series the last six games of the season but indicated Matthews probably wouldn't play any more than that. ... [Patterson] said injured quarterback Casey Pachall will not suit up Saturday but declined to say how close Pachall is to playing. Pachall, who broke his non-throwing left arm in three places Sept. 7, was originally expected to miss eight weeks, meaning he might be available against West Virginia on Nov. 2. But the senior has been out of a cast for three weeks, has worked as the scout team quarterback and has thrown during pregame the last three weeks.

Man I'd like to see a Tech or Baylor type offense at TCU to pair up with their defense. That would create some excitement in the Stockyards.

Wonder if he is getting a good lab grade? It's not easy, so many of the labs are taught by foreign grad students, and I always had probs understanding their accents. And heck, half the labs were scheduled at goofy times of the day, sheesh, hated getting up early for an 0730 lab, and taking exams in them were really bad because of it, and.......

oh, wait.....

Big 12 isn't good this year. I thought FJJ et al were just following LUS' lead and sand-bagging, but now I'm not so sure. Parity = Mediocrity?!?

I see 2-3 more lossed for UTx, probably at least one more for Okie. Okie Lite is nothing close to what they were hyped to be, and TCU is a disappointment. Baylor may go undefeated, but even that won't get them in the BSBCS.....

I am suprised......

You are not alone in that sentiment.

Yep. I said before this started the conference champ could very well have at least two losses.

I thought Baylor might get beat last week since it was their first away game. Baylor also might get better now that they are playing someone. It might also expose them and they could go the other way. Time will tell.

Could be right on the parity part. But at least they all have to play an equal conference schedule and no one gets a built in advantage and "pretty" points when they get to dodge some others.

I'd be pleased as punch if Baylor's D got nasty during these final games while the offense hums at perfect pitch. A 12-0 Bears team at the end of the season will provide a refreshing change of topic.

Have no idea but his rehab was for alcohol abuse. As to the drugs, it has been my understanding that he had experimented with some but wasn't a perpetual user. But then what do I know for sure? Nothing.

Baylor and Oregon in the champ game.
It will never happen because of built-in media bias but it would be fun.

Blink, sneeze, or reach for a chip, and you'd miss a play.
