07:29 AM ET 10.18 | Of all coaches, Dana Altman isn't going to begrudge a player who transfers for his own personal gain. But there's a way to pursue individual success without sacrificing the team concept, Altman reasons. There's a way to balance personal goals with group goals. That philosophy has become the cornerstone of a rising Oregon men's basketball program. ... "The new guys have been good," Altman said of his six transfers, three of them seniors, at Pac-12 media day on Thursday. "They're good guys to work with. They've made tremendous progress in the two and a half, three weeks that we've been working out. I like them." This year's crop of newbies features three players -- forward Mike Moser, and guards Jason Calliste and Joseph Young -- who've already excelled at the Division I level.
