Terrible news for the Blueshirts

07:35 AM ET 10.18 | Ryan Callahan was simply being Ryan Callahan -- getting in the lane to block a John Carlson shot in Washington on Wednesday. And now, because the mindset of Callahan does not change regardless of the score, the clock or the identity of the coach behind the bench, the Blueshirts' captain will be sidelined for perhaps a month with a non-displaced fracture of the left thumb he sustained by being himself. This is terrible news for the Blueshirts, who are already absent their most potent offensive weapon in Rick Nash. ... Thus, it's about that time again for the Rangers, who face the Devils at the Prudential Center on Saturday night. What time? The time to try and win 1-0 with a team that's not ideally equipped to do so.
