10:58 AM ET 10.20 | Florida State TE Nick O'Leary was featured in a segment on ESPN's College GameDay with Scott Van Pelt. The usually laconic tight end had five touchdown receptions heading into the week, tied for the most for any tight end in college football. However, O'Leary is more known for his relationship to his grandfather, legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. During most Florida State broadcasts, the relationship is revisited. The tight end is consistently referred to as Nick O'Leary, Jack Nicklaus' grandson. However, O'Leary explained to Van Pelt that he hopes his play on the field begins to distance him from his famous grandfather soon. "I love my grandpa, nothing to take away from him, but it's me, I'm going my own way now," O'Leary said on College GameDay. "I love that he's here for every game. After anything that happens with me, they always turn the camera to where they're sitting. There's nothing I can do about it."

He did a great job of it last night. Wish he had followed Jack to Jack's alma mater.

I didn't know he was Jack's grandson. Thanks for spoiling it for me, Orlando Sentinel.

Wonder if he wants out of all the perks and $$$ that came with being his grandson?
Complaining about being called the grandson of a sports legend is prob the biggest firstworldproblem out there

That's what I was thinking. It ain't all bad. Besides, Jack doesn't seem like the type that would be a problem for the grandkids.

Good for him....he doesn't want to ride on Grandpa's coattails....

Yes, it has it's perks, but at some point you want your kid to make it on their own and I'm glad to see him trying...

Lol Ohio State in the NC game? They'd have to be a lot impressive against the Iowa's of the world if they ever want to leapfrog Alabama, Oregon, Or FSU in the polls. The Buckeyes' schedule is crazy weak; not good enough to get them into the NC game.

O'Leary dominated Clemson last night, along with the rest of his FSU teammates.

LMFAO! If you like OSU, then you do NOT want to see them play FSU this year. We'll hurt your feelings!

Here we go again sec favoritism Ohio state couldn't beat okla state the acc weak ask the nole when was the last time they beat OU the big twelve sent three of their mid and bottom tier teams to thre difrent so called strong leagues and they are dominating them. No one with a loss should be ranked above no loss teams.ohio state and Oregon play nobody send them to the big 12 and see haw great they are at least the sec is a tough conference at least half of them, I know half of the big 12 is weak also, with that being said, if the BCS has enough guts to start moving teams around where they belong if we finish with no more losses weather fiesta bowl or bcs championship send the nobles the ducks or any of the top two ranked sec teams. Can't wait for some play offs then there will be no more griping including me.
