09:25 AM ET 10.20 | Texas A&M didn't update the status of quarterback Johnny Manziel, who injured his throwing arm Saturday, other than to say his shoulder was being evaluated following the game. Manziel injured his right arm at the end of a rush at the start of the fourth quarter but returned to finish the game. The Heisman Trophy winner required treatment on the field -- in the center of a hushed Kyle Field -- and then off of it. CBS cameras tried to catch every move, even with A&M staffers trying unsuccessfully to hide Manziel on the bench with flimsy towels. He attempted to complete his throwing motion on the sideline but couldn't. Soon after he disappeared under the Kyle Field stands, where CBS reported he was receiving more treatment. After missing an additional series, Manziel returned with 9:06 to play. "He came in and played," A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said. "I don't know how to measure pain. He didn't say anything to me, just that he was ready to go."

Tackling was optional in parts of this game. More like two hand touch at times.

A&M doesn't want to tip their hand to mighty Vanderbilt.

During that time I couldn't help wondering how Jamiel Showers would have performed in Manziel's absence. That kid can sling the ball and Joekel is not as good of a backup QB.

I assume you are reminiscing since he transferred. They should have tried Hill.

Yep. Wondering how Matt Davis would have done as well. Hill will get his shot next year for sure.

What, no running commentary of how many competent backups are enrolled in other schools?

And, yes Hill should have backuped (homer comment acknowledged before pointed out)

Aggie's is an unintended consequence of good 7 on 7 leagues in Texas. Don't know Aubie's reason.

They should have taken him out the last series, everyone knew he couldn't throw anymore that game.
