11:03 AM ET 10.20 | Vanderbilt's first victory over a ranked team since 2008 drove third-year coach James Franklin to tears in his news conference. It might have come at a cost. The Commodores delivered under difficult circumstances, rallying from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit without their starting quarterback to stun No. 16 Georgia 31-27 before a sellout crowd of 40,350 Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium. Franklin did not address Austyn Carta-Samuels' status after the game, but his comments made it sound as if the injury was serious. The senior left late in the second quarter when his left leg got twisted during a sack.

A%M vs. Vandy could be the battle of the backups.

I was glad to see Vandy pull it out but the targeting rule HAS to change. If the player is not ejected from the game then his team should not still be assessed the 15 yard penalty. If the hit was not illegal how can you still penalize the team?

Smh

I can rationalize the lack of offense due to injuries.

The consistent gaffes on special teams are inexcusable.

The defense is young but they should be MUCH better than they are and aren't improving.

This loss was a team loss. So many things went wrong I can't begin to list them all.

This is just what Richt's teams do.

21 of vandys 31 pts were a result of UGAs special teams mistakes. Special teams have been a liability for the dawgs for years. I just don't get why Richt has never made it a priority to get it fixed. That in combination with a poor defensive hire in Grantham leads me to believe that he's gotta go. At the very least he needs to get a new DC and hire a special teams coach.

Not to make excuses for injuries, but this UGa team is beyond just normal getting guys hurt.

Most knew that the D would be suspect this year, but the O would almost be unstoppable. Losing 80% of the skill positions is tough to overcome

Tough day for QB's yesterday...

Could still be Unnecessary Roughness....just not targeting.
