Jhonny Peralta wants to stay with Tigers

04:54 PM ET 10.20 | Detroit Tigers shortstop and left fielder Jhonny Peralta wants to remain with the organization. Peralta is set to be come a free agent this offseason, and is coming off a productive postseason where he learned to play left field on the fly, while leading a stagnant Detroit offense back to the ALCS with a Division Series performance for the books. He hit .417 (5-for-12) in the ALDS, adding one home run and five RBIs to go along with a double. In the ALCS against Boston, Peralta hit .286 (6-for-22) but tacked on a a trio of doubles for Jim Leyland's club.

I like Peralta, he could be OK in left, but Jim Leyland's and the coaches are past their time, those players don't run on their own.

He'd be a good fit in pinstripes.
