07:17 AM ET 10.21 | For the most part, Utah's roster is a young one, which makes fourth-year forward Gordon Hayward something of a veteran within the franchise, which made the 6-foot-8, 215-pound Butler product and Indiana native the No. 9 overall pick in 2010. The Jazz front office continues to have talks with [Hayward] about a possible contract extension. But even after the team announced Saturday it had agreed to a multi-year deal with forward Derrick Favors, worth a reported $49 million over four seasons, Hayward said he is not concerned about getting a deal done. "Not at all," he said. "Extremely happy for him. It's great for the organization, for [Favors]. Couldn't be happier for him. I'm just playing basketball. I don't worry about that."

Favors is terrible. He is as good right now as he ever will be. Hayward is the guy who they should have locked down first.

QUOTE(#2):

They shouldnt have given favors the deal and shouldn't sign Hayward either.Never lock up lesser players to big contracts til you have your star in the foldHe's ok, but unless he's signing for like 4-5 per, don't waste your cap

Exactly my thoughts too.

If they REALLY wanted to burn $ they might as well have re-signed Al and/or Milsap who are proven players. These signings make Isiah look like a genius.

Favors averaged 9 PPG and maybe 8 RPG last season. Those are great numbers to lock him up for $49 million...lol
