07:30 AM ET 10.21 | The chain of events doesn't quite spell out the path of a championship season. Not long after the 'For Sale' was taken down on the Florida Panthers' franchise, one has surfaced in the dressing room. Three weeks into the season -- and less than a month since Vincent Viola and Douglas Cifu took over the franchise -- sources say the Panthers are prepared to move any of their veteran players. Forwards Tomas Fleischmann, Kris Versteeg, Scottie Upshall, Shawn Matthias, Brad Boyes and Marcel Goc are among those available along with Tom Gilbert and Dmitry Kulikov, just to name a few. After making the playoffs two years ago, the Panthers haven't gotten off to the kind of start anybody expected, especially after signing veteran goalie Tim Thomas.

Thomas sure been lookin solid his past two starts. When was this written?Anyway, wouldn't give up on Kulikov just yet. Also, anybody else think if Florida ate $1 million or so per year of his contract, Brian Campbell would be a great pick up?

Consider the source of the article, Danny.

Yes.

It just seems way too early to start unloading players, unless you have NHL ready replacements.

He still doesn't have to worry a White House visit decision.

Maybe they're hoping the Sens will pick up a couple pieces.

They must have someone in mind, then.

He'd certainly be a huge upgrade on your captain.

QUOTE(#12):

I've been thinking about this one for a good week or so. It'd be a pretty good deadline move - pick up Campbell and take the last two years of his deal off FLA's hands, minus $1 mil per, and the Panthers get Dion's expiring contract and a low pick/prospect.

If you wait till the deadline, you might be too late.

Brian Griffin would be an upgrade on his captain.

"Expect a Panthers fire sale"

This may turn out to be more like a garage sale: Lots of odds and ends but nothing really useful.

Ok. Well this is a team that is located in a bad place and due to the many years of bottom feeding....this team has lost confidence.

They can never get any chemistry as they always sell an asset as quickly as they've developed. It's kinda like they want a team, but for show only.....and wins don't matter.

What does this new owner think he will accomplish? Yet another useless re-build? Nobody really wants to play there.....except Booby Lou and that's due to family.
