07:31 AM ET 10.21 | Dallas dropped its fifth of eight games so far this season, and change may come to Big D. Stars coach Lindy Ruff said before Sunday's game that he would ponder some lineup changes, but then decided to not scratch any regulars. Ruff juggled his defense pairs, but did not insert either Kevin Connauton on defense or Lane MacDermid as a forward. The Stars played Saturday in Los Angeles and had 21 hours between starts. Ruff said he didn't want to panic. "It's been a little bit of a step ahead and a step back," Ruff said of his assessment process. ... "[If] a player is consistently making bad decisions, that player will end up coming out, because he's going to hurt the team. I'm new to a lot of these guys. I want to see them under pressure, I want to see them under duress."

The good news from last night is that the goalie position is in good hands. Jack Campbell was spectacular.

The bad news is we don't have any defensemen. None. Nada. Zilch. Big, fat zero.

October 21, 2013  08:18 AM ET

And safe to say... Ryan Garbutt will have a visit with Sheriff Shanahan.

Trade a goalie for a d-man.

Is that advice for Otis or Nonis?

Dan Ellis and Kari Lehtonen are now officially on the market. Jack Campbell is not.

Lehtonen's goin nowhere. NTC until 2015.

Yep. And Ellis has no trade value and Campbell is the future.

Bottom line for poor little ol' me is that the rebuild continues. And blue liners aren't exactly growing on trees. Nill and Ruff have their work cut out for them as long as Gonchar, Daley and Golgoski are a combined -20.

Sounds like the first round of the Texas Open.

Flying elbow to the side of the head. Looked like he was channeling Matt Cooke.

I feel bad for you Otis. The Pens unloaded Gogo because they gave up on him and I couldn't believe what Dallas gave up for him in return. Gonchar and Gogo were two of kind when they played for Pittsburgh except that Gonch was better on the power play. Dallas didn't give him the $5 million a year that he was asking for, did they?

Dan Ellis? Yes.

Kari Let-one-in? No, thank you.

You team just hit a Ruff spot, Otis. You may have to trade Seguin to the Wings for a D-man. ;-)

It's okay. Phaneuf is gonna get to -20 on his own if he keeps gettin outshot 8-1 while he's on the ice like he did Saturday.

Ain't he a beauty?

Paint him neon orange and use him as a pylon in practice. :-)

They keep him around for his warm, sunny disposition.
