03:18 PM ET 10.21 | The South Carolina Gamecocks are going to have to shake off the loss to Tennessee this past Saturday rather quickly, as they have a division showdown looming with the top dogs of the SEC East at the moment, the Missouri Tigers. But shaking that off and getting ready for the battle will be a little tougher now as they may have to do so without starting quarterback Connor Shaw. In the loss to the Volunteers, Shaw went down in the second half with what looked like a pretty serious knee injury at the time. Later on in the evening, it was confirmed that Shaw had suffered a severely sprained knee, with the good news that no surgery would be necessary. However, he may not be ready for this weekend's game against Mizzou, according to his coach.

The sad thing is that, if Mizzou wins, the general thought will be that CS being out is why SCAR lost and not that Mizzou has a very good Freshman QB.
