Officially, no decision yet on Noel

07:18 AM ET 10.22 | Depending on your perspective, Sixers head coach Brett Brown may have dropped a bombshell Monday before taking on the Cavaliers. Speaking to reporters, Brown said he "doubts" that first-round pick Nerlens Noel will play at all this season. "I doubt, everybody doubts that he's going to play this year," said Brown according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. ... Two sources both close to the situation, however, confirmed that "no decision has been made" on Noel when it comes to playing this season. The statement from Brown comes two days after he said following a Sixers practice that there was "no daylight" to Noel, Jason Richardson or Arnett Moultrie returning. He referred to them as "done" -- which really isn't that much different from what he said in Cleveland on Monday.

Smart move to let him sit out. Kind of like what the Clippers did with Griffin. Let the kid sit out, put on weight and work on his game. have 2 top 10 picks in the draft to add with a healthy Noel next season and things are suddenly looking up. Even if they don't land Wiggins and get Jabari Parker instead it's a win win for the franchise

This is the right decision.

Noel is too skinny right now to be battling in the NBa post. As a high first round pick, he's gonna gonna get bullied by the vets just on GP. Add to that, that he's coming off an ACL tear....there's a good chance the injury can be aggravated.

Sit him for a year, let him rehab the knee....and let the rehab build his body.

For him.....a healthy knee + 20-30 pounds of muscle + some specialized skills training.....would = a very good thing!

Great example. The Bulls management effed up for making it official too early... So why would they make it official again?

You don't know that for sure. Guy's can still put on weight with the right training. D12 is a good example of that.

I am not even mad at this as we are clearly tanking. If big If, we can land two top 5 picks it was worth it. Noel doesn't have to be built just be able to defend the paint against most bigs. I think yall need to realize that there are very few dominant inside 5's and even fewer that are number one options. In short I think they will let him practice but probably not play probably similar to Rose except the team may force it. If he plays it will be at the end of the season. He needs to work on other fundamentals shooting FT's and a couple go to moves. Sixers need Wiggins badly a sure top prospect a potential franchise changer.
