07:18 AM ET 10.22 | In NBA camps across North America, the clock is ticking. The Lakers start the season Oct. 29 at home against the Clippers. They currently have 16 players, which means at least one has to go. Given that both Shawne Williams and Elias Harris have $100,000 of their individual contracts guaranteed, both are favorites to stick. The team has 11 guaranteed contracts -- 13 if Williams and Harris are included with their partials. The solid preseason from camp invitee Xavier Henry suggests the Lakers have a clear 14 headed into cut-down day. Does the team go to the maximum 15 or keep an open roster slot at 14? "I don't know," [Mike D'Antoni] said, deferring to General Manager Mitch Kupchak. ... Ryan Kelly, the power forward from Duke picked 48th overall in the June draft, is on the bubble.

LOL neva heard of anyone mentioned. Sad state in the LaLaLand!

Wow! Mine as well bring back Luke or Odom...

This could be the first time we've seen the Lakers talk about the 15th spot. The Stay campaign was the first sign of desperation and hard times...

It is going to be an interesting year for the Lakers....to put it mildly...good luck Laker fans. Good Tuesday morning all.

Don't be surprised to see formner picks Javarius Crittenton, Sun Yue and Derrick Caracter come knocking looking at this roster......

October 22, 2013  09:10 AM ET

Shawne Williams, Elias Harris, Xavier Henry; who the hell are these guys? The Fakers are in worse shape than we thought.

Yes it is sad but one has to take into consideration that this roster has absolutely no chance in hell of contending. Not as it has been in the past when the Lakers won title after title with their best teams.

Unlike the Hawks who regardless of the best talent they assemble can never even resemble a hint of significance in the eastern conference, leave alone the fantasy of a championship...

Don't cry for us Atlanta!

Good morning, Flaney! I read that Russell was starting to practice with the team some already. That's a good thing!

Yes it is. He isn't doing full contact practices, but he is at least on the court with the team for some of the shoot arounds and offensive and defensive sets...getting back into the flow and condition work. All good signs that maybe OKC will have him back earlier than anticipated...we shall see.

You are being a moron as usual. This isn't anything to do with the Hawks. The discussion is about Lakers.
And btw, you personally own NOTHING. Not the Lakers team, nor their rings or their threads.

We are all just fans here giving out our opinions. For you to constantly poke comments on some other team, just because they have something to say about lakers shows that you missed a few hugs growing up.

Eli has to stop doing that crap... Pretty defensive guy and seems to go after posters and than leave.

Much ado about nothing... just discussing rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Sans Kobe and Pau, the whole roster should be on the bubble!

He gets offended easily. It's fine defending your team but going after someone seems to be his thing. That's what i meant by stop doing that crap...
