07:20 AM ET 10.22 | First, the headline: Matt Kemp underwent a left ankle operation Monday, an operation that will limit his offseason training program, according to his agent, Dave Stewart. This is the second consecutive winter in which Kemp has had major surgery. He had surgery on his left shoulder last year. He underwent a minor procedure to clean up that same shoulder this month. Kemp won't be able to put any weight on his foot for a month, according to Stewart. He will remain limited in what he can do in the month after that. But Stewart tried to find a positive in the setback, saying Kemp will be able to do the upper-body work he couldn't do last winter. Kemp will also be able to strengthen his core and hamstrings, the agent said. "We're anticipating he'll be ready for the season," Stewart said.

I'll be very surprised if he ever returns to All-Star form. He's got damage everywhere and those shoulder injuries are usually the worst for total recovery.

Shoulders are tricky. So are ankles. Hopefully he'll heal up but who knows?

It's a shame because the guy seems to have a good heart.
I just rewatched the video of him giving his hat, jersey, and spikes to the sick fan who passed away shortly after that and still find it very touching...I do wonder if the guy was worried about the jock coming off.
Kemp flew the kid and his family into LA for a game after that, he did the big giveaway in SF.

Didn't he have an arthroscopic procedure done on his previously injured shoulder just last week? How is he supposed to do upper body work anytime soon?
