03:58 PM ET 10.22 | Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley was taken off the field on a stretcher in Week 7 after suffering a bruised spinal cord and it is possible that his season will be coming to an end soon. According to reports, the Packers are preparing to place Finley on the injured reserve list so that he can focus all of his attention on his recovery. This is the second head/neck injury for Finley this season, which is never comforting, so he needs to do everything he can to make sure he is worrying about his health and not football. The good news is that this is not expected to be career-threatening, so we could see him back on the field next season.

I agree, these neck injuries can be career threatening.

Glad he's out of danger. Football is secondary when an injury like this occurs.

Now that it seems he'll thankfully be OK (though he's got a ways to get back, if ever) I can say it without sounding like a turd...

Those retro unis are beyond horrible.

He'll have to take this injury day-to-day ... I would be surprised if he were to return -- but look at Manning. You never know! Wish him good luck and Go Pack!

The Patriots and Packers look like the walking wounded. I'm surprised both teams have winning records.

And that's saying something.

When Peyton effing Hillis outgains Adrian Peterson, coaches need to get fired. Now. Today. Pronto.

I just heard there is a possibility that Finley might still play this year.

If he does, I'm happy for him, really. The replay gave me the shudders.

I just hope he's not being "Shanahanned" back in the lineup before he's completely healed.
