Sour Belichick: Jets broke rules, too

07:13 AM ET 10.23 | Some stories are just bizarre enough not to diffuse themselves, and the Push Heard 'Round the World certainly qualifies. Bill Belichick is the latest to prod the fire, apparently claiming that the Jets were just as guilty of pushing teammates on field goal block attempts as the Patriots. Belichick was asked Tuesday what he thought of the Jets alerting the officials to look out for the Patriots' maneuver. "Well, I mean, since they were using the play themselves I don't even know about all that," Belichick said. "But basically we're just moving on here." Belichick was almost certainly referring to the Jets' block attempt on Stephen Gostkowski's 44-yard field goal that tied the game late in the fourth quarter. On the play, Quinton Coples moved behind Muhammad Wilkerson, and may have given him a push.

Defensive players push the pile all the time. Wonder why they just happened to call it on that play?

Belichick usually don't respond to nonsense like this but I guess Rex Ryan got under his skin this time. LMAO!

Guess it makes more people talk about the NFL if Hoodie loses a close one.

Whether it was correct or not, the fact it was called in OT is what makes the call disturbing. No different than a ticky tack holding call on a corner back.

The Zebras basically handed the game to the Jets.

Refs should not decide the outcome of a football game....at any level.

So how exactly is Beichick any more "sour" about this than any other coach would be?

The interns should move on, too.

October 23, 2013  07:54 AM ET

Wonder' if he wants some cheese with that whine?

October 23, 2013  07:59 AM ET

It's like holding, it happens on every play but gets called selectively.

In the Sunday night game, late in the game PM got knocked over several beats after he threw a pass and it was a no call. A couple of series later the same thing happened to Luck and it drew a roughing flag. Shiite happens. Move on.

October 23, 2013  08:00 AM ET

Not very "sour" to state facts. But hey... Who would've thought the Jets would beat them ?

October 23, 2013  08:03 AM ET

So Belichick doesn't like it when other teams break the rules? Poor Billy boy.

Nobody cares Bro.
