Butler available? Well, yes, but ...

07:22 AM ET 10.23 | Via Twitter, it was reported Tuesday that the Royals were "ready to talk about Billy Butler." Really? Well, yes, but slow down. Royals general manager Dayton Moore previously made it clear that he's willing to trade anyone for the right price. "You've got to look at all of your options," he said. "We've got to be open-minded to everything." That, presumably, includes Butler, who slumped this season to 15 home runs and a .289 average (down from 29 and .313) but still managed to lead the club with 82 RBIs and a .374 on-base percentage. ... Bottom line? It's possible, of course, that some club overwhelms the Royals with an offer for Butler. Short of that...well, weigh everything (as Dayton Moore will do). You decide how likely Butler is to be traded.

This guy had seasons of 51, 45, and 44 doubles, but dropped to 27 last season (along with the HR drop). Given that he's fat and getting fatter, he might be worth dumping on a dumb GM unless they know he had some minor injury that's likely to get better. The question is, does KC have anybody to take his place in the lineup? Wil Myers might have been nice...

His contract will make this one dimensional player difficult to move.

I can think of one whose name rhymes with red spaghetti.

Funny because Butler's nickname is Country Breakfast...then have some Ned Colletti for dinner.
