Too late for Muschamp

07:27 AM ET 10.23 | In this case, three brings few charms to Will Muschamp. As head coach of the Florida Gators, [Muschamp] suffered his third loss of the season in his 3rd season. In Muschamp's defense all three losses came to ranked opponents ( LSU, Miami and Missouri), but then it's hardly the Florida norm to lose to teams like Missouri, no matter their ranking. So while it's probably too soon for Gator fans to give up on Muschamp, it's a fair bet that some have. As modern college football history dictates, the big name coaches (Steve Spurrier, Bob Stoops, Lou Holtz, Pete Carroll, Mack Brown and yes, ex-Gator coach Urban Meyer, to name just a few) who've thrived usually had dominant teams by year three, and often year two. Also notable about the successful coaches mentioned is that they replaced failed coaches.

Some years are just cluster *****. And they can be followed by a year where things go better.

i.e. 2012 Missouri vs 2013 Missouri

QUOTE(#13):

Boom=Ron Zook @ UF

Zook was never 11-2. However Zook never fielded an offense as bad as this Gator offense. It is clear that Pease and/or Davis is gone at the end of the year.

There was a lot of smoke over the weekend about Pease getting canned and Joker becoming the OC. Joker was unofficially the OCIW. However, Sunday came and went. UF has a bye this week.

How the next Ray Lewis doing in San Diego :)

Pretty good! He was the leading tackler for the Bolts when they upset the Colts recently. Any other questions...?

October 23, 2013  09:48 AM ET

Well a few years of 7-5 to 9-3 football is hardly a disaster. That said its unbelievable to me that a school with all the recruiting advantages that UF has can't field a decent offense. How do NIU, L-Ville, BYU, UCF, and Fresno end up with better QB's than UF?
