07:31 AM ET 10.23 | So far this season, very little has gone right for the Rangers, including injuries to key players and the erratic play of Henrik Lundqvist. The biggest problem, however, is the team's inconsistent effort, coach Alain Vigneault said. "I do know that my teams compete, my teams play hard, and they're hard to play," he said. "We haven't been that way, and it's my responsibility to get us there." Vigneault said he has not been happy with the 2-5-0 Rangers' effort in just two of their seven games. When asked how they can improve on that, he simply said: "It's just about being a professional. "It's not very hard to understand what I want," Vigneault said. "It's a matter of them putting the right compete level on the ice. If you do that, usually you're in pretty good shape."

I knew eventually you would find the right path to lead you out of the darkness and into the light of Randy's mercy! (But, remember, it is October, not yet Judgment Day).

The Rangers gave away too much to the Blue Jackets in the Nash deal...look who's the better team since the trade.

to paraphrase the great sage L.P.Berra, it sure gets late early around here. But I wonder how much of this is due to injuries vs. system, etc. And I don't know if they gave up too much. As much as I liked Dubinsky,he was a model of inconsistency. Gaborik also. As for nash...he was fine last season...looked gassed in the playoffs...and had no help either. And who would have seen Hank playing like a Flyers' goalie so far? Let's see what happens. I will start to worry in January

You speak the truth. Rick Nash in Columbus - The Blue Jackets ****. Rick Nash in New York - the Rangers ****. No Rick Nash in Columbus - The Blue Jackets have started to win and are very hard to play against.
