07:29 AM ET 10.23 | For good reason, athletes are cautioned against offering up "bulletin board" material. So the Montreal Canadiens' Lars Eller should have known that the fertilizer might end up hitting the ventilating device when he likened the Edmonton Oilers to a "junior team" when asked before Tuesday night's game what he expected from his opponents. "It can be anything, you know? They play a little bit like a junior team, I think, sometimes. They take a lot of risks, a lot of chances, they're a little all over the place. There's not a lot of structure, always, in their game," quoth Eller. After the Oilers beat the Habs a few hours later, Edmonton coach Dallas Eakins said of Eller: "he might as well have sent me a fruit basket and a bottle of wine. ... We thank Lars Eller for his comments before the game. Awesome."

I'd like to see Canadien players do this more often.

Kumbayah, anyone?

but I still say a professional should not need this nonsense to get riled up for a game So is Eakins hinting that if Eller didn't open his big bazoo, the Oilers may not have won?

I think the players shouldn't have to do any pregame interviews. Let them focus on the game and when the game is over wait for them in the hallway after they shower and change and ask a few questions. That being said that was a stupid comment by Eller

I don't think Danny was born when Carl played.
