Chiefs defense is built for long-term success

01:50 PM ET 10.23 | The Kansas City Chiefs are the last unbeaten team in the NFL. Let that ruminate for a bit. Pour it into a wine glass and slosh it around. Let it breathe and then drink it in. Let it layer your palate to get a feel for the texture. Taste the tannins. Eat some cheese. Do other weird wine stuff. None of it will change the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are sitting at 7-0, the last of the unbeatens in the National Football League and now, ipso facto, a Super Bowl contender. And that's because, like a fine wine, the Chiefs' talented young defense has continued to get better with age.

Next two games:

Home vs Cleveland
Away @ Buffalo

Kansas City could easily be 9-0 heading into the bye week.

Granted their opponents so far have a combined record of 15-33 (.3125)

Only one of which (Dallas Cowboys) currently have a winning record.

But hey, you can only beat the teams that are on your schedule.

Andy Reid might very well win a Nobel for what he's done to KC this year.

Somebody on here predicted big things for KC back in early summer and I didn't see it. Kudo's to whoever that was - I saw an 8-8 season as a huge success.

That's it.

I don't remember when the flex scheduling starts for NBC but I'll bet a buck that if it's Week 11 they are already trying to opt out of GB@NYG and into KC@DEN.

"Do other weird wine stuff."

How about "put a cork in it?"

Yep,

KC's doing better than thought, and ya just have too give acculades, for the Chiefs getting QB Alix Smith,as a very good investment.

Not only that? But the D is doing great.

9-0 isn't a reach,but the Browns may be a burdon,out of the 2.

oops Alex,

KC got the better deal.
