07:14 AM ET 10.24 | Barely into his 30s, Tracy McGrady has called it a career. The 34-year-old McGrady wants to start the next chapter of his life so he decided it was time to walk away from the league that he had played in since he was a teenager out of Mount Zion Christian Academy. Now, less than two months into his retirement and days away from the start of the 2013-14 season, McGrady couldn't be happier with his decision. ... He has given some thought to becoming a broadcaster, and he has appeared on NBA TV's Open Court alongside other former players. He also has interest in working in a front office and possibly becoming a general manager of a team. "I really don't have any interest in coaching, but maybe I'll be a GM," McGrady said. "That's something that I could see myself doing."

GM? No college education and little experience will make it hard for him to achieve that goal.

As long as Isaiah Thomas isn't his mentor I'm okay with it.... Okay maybe not... Who would honestly give this guy a chance at being a GM???

I want to be a GM too but that's not gonna happen either.

QUOTE(#2):

Sure, i'd love for him to have some young superstars leave his team as a FA right before the team rounds into shape. See how it feels.

And hopefully he can sign that player's whiny, injury prone cousin too.

With the bone-head moves we see teams make year-in and year-out, it doesn't seem like the college education and experience they have is serving them very well anyway.
