Former MVP not only back, he's better

07:17 AM ET 10.24 | After watching him shake off a poor shooting night to score 13 points down the stretch Wednesday night, Carlos Boozer was effusive in his praise of Derrick Rose. "[He's] one of those kind of players that you've got to watch him because if you don't watch him, you might miss something." Boozer then took it a step further, claiming that this new version of Rose, who also dished out six assists (albeit against five turnovers), went 10-for-10 from the charity stripe and shot 4-for-8 from 3-point range, is superior to the old one, the youngest-MVP-in-NBA-history edition. "No, he's better. You know why? Because I think watching for a year, taking care of his body -- you see he's stronger -- and on top of that, he's a workhorse."

It's a good thing that the real season starts in April. At least some drama will end once the season starts next week.

Lets see how he holds up. My knees will still hold out long enough to go out and look good for a game too.

until he can shoot from beyond 16 feet its the same old Rose. If he can be played just to drive every time he will get eaten alive again in the playoffs.

Until his range improves the Bulls will not win anything. I take Kyrie over him any day since you actually have to respect Kyrie shooting a 3, or taking it to the rim.

Plus, you can understand what Kyrie is saying in the post-game interview

Kyrie is good but he hasn't proven anything yet. At least DRose already got an MVP. Let Kyrie lead the Cavs to a playoff appearance first.

Been a long layoff, hopefully he comes back strong and makes Chicago ball exciting.

You obviously haven't been watching Rose play this preseason.... He's been showing he can more then hit the outside shot now and even if he was the same old Rose he's still the best PG in the NBA. Kyrie doesn't dominate a game the way Rose can.

I want to devalue his performance yesterday because:1. It's the preseason.2. He had dead Fish guarding him. But, he really does look great.

Dude, Kyrie can't guard DRose. They are not even comparable...imo.Westbrook could give Rose hell on both ends of the floor.Kyrie can't.Your guy is a helluva young player and will be a top 7 scorer this season. But, he only plays one end of the court.

QUOTE(#11):

its a fair point.he clearly is looking good, but will he make it til may?from his recent history of keeping things shut down when he's not feeling it...if he feels some soreness come jan, is he going to shut it down? for how long? the rest of the season? a few games?these are all valid questions based on his refusal to play last playoffs

Whatever....

Whatever as well...I just don't see how you can expect a guy that hasn't played all season to come in and play during the playoffs knowing full well he is going to be rusty, out of game shape and disruptive to the team during an important part of the season...just my opinion.
