Can the 'Cats go 40-0?

07:23 AM ET 10.24 | The seeds of this talk were planted around April Fool's Day in 2012, at the New Orleans Superdome. It was there, with the confetti falling and the music playing and the Wildcats celebrating their title, that coach John Calipari raised the bar. "I want to coach a team that goes 40-0," he said. "Before I'm out of here. Before I'm done." ... At this point this storyline is spreading because the media has latched onto it, because we love storylines. And the fact that this column is appearing in this space means I am, in some ways, part of the herd. But I'm actually here to encourage everyone to tap the brakes. I'm here to tell you that while we might see a perfect season someday, it will not be this season. It will not be now.

They have enough talent to do so. At least on paper.

Didn't they say this last year, when they signed the greatest class known to mankind?

Hello, NIT...

Billy D says neaux.

SL Guido, it's comments like yours I just don't get. Last year's recruiting class was one of the weakest as a whole in the past 20 plus years. NO ONE from Uk, around uk, uk fans, etc said that. People also forget they lost Nerlens Noel, the heart and soul of the team in the middle of the year when they were starting to gel. This recruting class (as a whole, not just UK's) is considered one of the strongest in a long time, hence why this team is going to be special. But, keep just banging the same drums my man, don't bother looking into facts.

Welcome to FN. It is okay to be a totally blind homer for your team as you appear to be.

However, you need to take a Dale Carnegie course.

Oh, and we don't deal in facts here. Only rumors and innuendos.

He only had one fact in there, Noel did get hurt.

The rest was his and others' opinions, though, about the strength of this year's class and the crappiness of the previous one. So on the whole, he was strong on the opinions side and light on the facts side. Not too far off the FN average, IMO.

Dale Carnegie definitely has a prospect there, though, I agree with you.

Haha you guys are right, I guess they aren't "facts" quite yet. I'm not a homer at all, it's just I see people come in ripping them on all kinds of sites when they lost so much talent and then their best player gets hurt in the middle of the year. This year's class if you guys listen to anyone in college or the NBA talk is one of the strongest in a long time. Do you guys honestly believe last year's recruiting class a whole is anywhere near this one?
