04:49 PM ET 10.24 | Athletes play their entire career to say they're the best - either individually or as a team. And if you're lucky enough to be part of that, you're awarded a ring as an accomplishment for your achievements. A very expensive ring. Players/coaches and team officials often do get different rings, the player/coaches rings being far more valuable but that's not to say the ring of a team staffer isn't lucrative. Still, when you have a Super Bowl ring, everybody wants to get a glimpse and when you're a gracious party guest like Baltimore Ravens receptionist Toni Lekas, you let people see it when they ask. What you don't do though is let it out of your sight, which is a mistake Lekas made. Long story short, the ring ended up in the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay.

I may be (probably am) wrong, but I doubt it's of the same like and quality as the players'.

You're right. But it's not as far off as you would think.

When I lost or broke things my parents would usually say " Maybe you weren't supposed to have that " Plus it gave them excuse to never buy me anything like that again. You live , you learn. I hope this woman learned a lesson.

THey may have compensated her for the materials in the ring. But she will have to get permission from the NFL to have a jeweler make another. That is, if she had it insured, many people don't.

I met a lady who had attended a wedding on a beach and she asked me if someone had turned in a bracelet she had lost that was valued at $20,000.00. I can only imagine some lucky guy with a metal detector found it. When there is a wedding on the beach you have several guys with these detectors looking for loose change all the time.

If she wants to get a another ring soon, she should start applying for receptionists jobs in Seattle, SF and Denver .
