Gonzalez back to Kansas City?

07:22 AM ET 10.25 | Hakeem Nicks of the Giants and Josh Gordon of the Browns may wear the label of the two wide receivers most likely to be traded before season's end, but they're not the only pass-catchers who would rate high on suitors' lists -- particularly if their current teams head in the wrong direction. The Hall of Fame-bound [Tony Gonzalez] has said all the right things about not wanting to be traded. But Gonzalez, who said similar things on his way out of Kansas City, is also image conscious and wouldn't want anybody to think he's jumping ship. The real question is whether Gonzalez will want his potential final season to be wasted out of the playoffs? If Atlanta drops to 2-5, Gonzalez will likely be in play. Most likely suitor: Kansas City.

Ship Gonzalez to the Pats.

If he wants a ring he should not have spent his salad days with KC. It's a bit late in his career to start jumping from hopeful contender to hopeful contender.

Gonzalez runs only about as far as Alex Smith is allowed to throw. Perfect match.

He'd be a nice add on to either the Pats or the Chiefs, so I hope he stays with the Falcons.

Tony looks like he's experiencing some gastrointestinal discomfort in that photo.

I didn't realize there was a "Get Tony Gonzalez a Super Bowl Ring" movement.

It does make the most sense, but.

Teams like Green Bay, Indianapolis, and New England could use him.

Exactly. A little history here. Tony has jumped ship in the past, so that nonsense he threw out there a few days ago was just that.

" In October 2008, Gonzalez asked to be traded to a Super Bowl contending team."....He asked again after that and finally got his wihs in 2010.

KC should just tell him, " Hey man, we are doing just fine without you and you got your wish."

time for atlanta to start thinking of 2014,.......his last year/trade him so he has a shot at a ~ring~,......just like the bruins did for ray bourque......!

The list of very good players who do not have a ring is long. very long. Guess he should have shut his mouth years ago and did what he could to stay with the chiefs.

No way Andy Reid does that. He will be very objective. If a top TE only costs a low draft pick at a time he needs a TE - he will do it. Very few current Chief's have actually played with him 4 years is a long time in the NFL

Maybe but if he had he probably would have retired at least after last season, if not sooner. Who could have forseen the Chiefs going from 2-14 last season to a SB contender this season?

Similar to the old "Get Ray Bourque a Stanley Cup" effort years ago.

Brings a tear to one's eye doesn't it?
