07:23 AM ET 10.25 | The heat on Greg Schiano in Tampa is rising. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport spoke with Buccaneers sources Thursday before Tampa's game against the Carolina Panthers who said there is "no guarantee" Schiano will even make it through the season. Those sources say that Schiano could lose his job if the Buccaneers suffer a string of embarrassing losses, show a lack of effort, and if there is an "obvious loss of the locker room" including current players speaking out against Schiano. That sounds like an invitation. ... During the fourth quarter of Buccaneer's 31-13 loss to the Panthers, [NFL Media columnist Michael Silver] tweeted that based on their conversations with Bucs sources, neither he nor Rapoport expect Schiano to be fired Friday.

Can't understand why he still there

October 25, 2013  07:33 AM ET

Ok..but previous reports already stated Schiano lost the locker room.

I am shocked. Shocked, I say!

can they even understand why he was brought in to begin with? Is coaching at Rutgers supposed to be some magic gateway to the NFL? Apprently NOT!!

October 25, 2013  08:39 AM ET

Thats why you do not hire a coach out of college to coach the pros especially when the college has not a reputation for being a powerhouse. Rutgers? Please. Plenty of retired Bucs out there that would have been a better coach. Come on ownership. You blew it. Move on now. Especailly with a potential top five pick looming with Clowney and so many QB's.

That's why he's still there. The Glazer's are very cheap and probably don't want to make the payout if they fire him. Wait for the Al Davis trying to make Lane Kiffen quit maneuvers to being.

Haven't all those requisites for his firing already happened?

I don't think correcting the owners stupidity is one of them.

October 25, 2013  09:05 AM ET

But Why? They are in position to get the #1 draft choice in 2014. Bringing in someone to win a couple of games will only ruin that.

Another CFB coach who can't make the transition to the NFL.
Big difference between coaching 18-22 year olds and coaching adults 25-35 years old, getting paid more than you.

Dominik will screw that up too.

That brilliance is why he's still there. The Bucs are another team that should seriously consider whether or not they need to fire the coach and the GM.

October 25, 2013  09:15 AM ET

It's time to move on from this clown. The sooner the better for the entire Bucs franchise. The Rah-Rah! method doesn't work so well in the NFL and especially when you have no credibility. He needs to get back to the college game so he can go back to intimidating 18-22 year old young men.

The players hate the guy. The only reason he's still there is the Glazers were dumb enough to give him 5 years. Schiano needs to go today and Dominic, the GM should follow him out the door.
