07:24 AM ET 10.25 | Earlier this week, Rajon Rondo watched the Celtics' exhibition win over Brooklyn with the same calm he has brought to every other game this fall. That's because while Rondo won't get specific about a timetable, he acknowledged last night that the next step in his recovery from ACL surgery -- contact -- may not be far off. "I'm getting fitted for my first brace, and I don't think contact will be too far from there," the Celtics point guard said. "I just have to get cleared by my doctors. I know it's getting stronger each week. When I'm able to jump off my right leg and dunk, that's probably when I'll be ready to play. Feeling great, working out every day. I'm doing more as far as compound workouts. I'm doing one workout a day, so I'm doing more as far as working on my leg. It's getting better each day."

Hold him out for the year so they can compete with Philly for Wiggins

The league should have a rule wherein if a team deliberately tanks a season in order to improve their potential draft level, they lose all draft picks for the next 3 seasons.

The Mighty Raptors would never have a draft pick.

Because punishing a team for trying to get better instead of being stuck in mediocrity is the best thing to do.

If he is talking about contact now then there's a chance he'll be back by Christmas.

The Cavs would have lost every pick since Lebron left.........

Wizards just acquired Gortat, so I guess they move up the ladder for a potential playoff spot.

Would you rush back to that mess? Let it heal.

What they need to do is restructure the lottery. For example, RANDOMLY choose forty dates in each teams game schedule and use ONLY those games to count towards their lottery position. This would take some of the incentive to tank because they couldn't be sure which games would count. A truly bad team would benefit from this because they lose with little effort. Of course, a truly determined team could tank them all but it would add another layer of protection. And maybe think about doing away with a system that allows mediocre (undeserving) teams to get the top spot. I never forgot the Tim Duncan debacle. Everyone was saying the Celtics had the best chance which was technically true but looking at it, you could also see that there was a 60% chance they would NOT get the pick. It's almost like saying I have a better chance than you at winning powerball because I bought two tickets and you only have one. This is true but what are my chances just straight up? Still, not that good.
