Jazz a fit for Jimmer

07:26 AM ET 10.25 | Depending on a Jazz fan's perspective, the following notion may or may not make his or her day. The Jazz should trade for Jimmer Fredette. No matter what is written here, no matter what argument is laid down, many already have made up their minds on the matter. Jimmer and his game have had -- and still have -- a real dividing effect on basketball fans around here. But I've talked with a few NBA player-personnel people, and they seemed to agree that there's a place for Fredette in the league. Utah is that place. The reasoning goes like this: Fredette can score, especially from deep. Even in the dysfunctional blob that was the Kings last season, Jimmer averaged 18 points per 36 minutes. He hit 41 percent of his 3-point shots. And he did that under a confused coach who jerked him around like a flounder on a hook.

He's Caucasion, relatively slow, and likes to shoot. Of course he's a great fit for the Utah Jazz.

Don't Come To LA, Bro.

W/ the right system, this guy can produce just like Korber and Redick. You have to set up plays for these kind of players.

He's actually better then both those players. He just needs a fair chance to earn some minutes. I feel for the kid and the situation he's in.

I like the kid. The worse thing that could happen to him was to go to Sacramento.

Always thought Utah was the perfect place for him.

Fredette is not much of an NBA player. He's perfect for the Jazz if they're in the mind to tank this season to get in the lottery.

Yeah, because every NBA player makes 41% of their outside shots.

SMH.

What in the world are you basing this comment on? Both those guys are better and more accomplished than Fredette right now.

They have both had an opportunity to showcase their talent also. In limited minutes, Jimmer has converted 41% of his 3's. He's a shooter, that's what he does. And he's also a solid passer. Think a poor man's Jeff Hornacek.

Agree. He is basically Adam Morrison without the stache. He will soon go the way of the dodo.

LMAO. Jimmer is NOT better than JJ, or Kyle. JJ has hugely improved defensively, and is a much better overall player, and has proven himself over many years.
Kyle is a deadly shooter, and has proven in the playoffs as well.

Jimmer can shoot, and cannot spell D or passing, AND has never had a chance to prove himself.

Kyle has a big contract, so does JJ. what does Jimmer have?

He's entering just his 3rd year. Redick was called a bust his first few years....until he actually got more PT.

Redick averaged 6ppg, 4.1ppg and 6ppg his first 3 years in the NBA. In his 4th season, he got a career high in mpg (22) and averaged 9.6ppg. It wasn't till his 5th season he broke double figures.
