07:30 AM ET 10.25 | This Hot Stove season will feature not only baseball news, but also legal news. A federal judge in Buffalo has not yet decided if he will unseal grand jury testimony from the Anthony Galea case, but Major League Baseball's lawyers have apparently concluded that there are other ways to find out if the Toronto physician gave banned drugs to Alex Rodriguez and other players. Spencer Lader, a Long Island sports memorabilia dealer who is engaged in a pitched legal battle with former Mets slugger Carlos Delgado, confirmed that he had received a subpoena to appear at Rodriguez's appeal of his 211-game doping suspension when it resumes on Nov. 18. The subpoena requests testimony Delgado may have given about his ties to Galea.

How about former fat@****ed slugger?
There was such a buzz about him when he first came up and starting rocketing balls off the hotel windows in Toronto...he had a good career, but got to be the size of a pickup truck and could barely move.

A 138+ OPS is a bit better than "good". By way of comparison that is the same OPS+ as Reggie Jackson.

He was an excellent hitter, but had no defensive or baserunning value at all and had his body fall apart at age 37. Baseball is not all about hitting. Delgado is not even close to Reggie in overall value and was also probably on roids as things turn out (maybe Reggie was, too?).

To be fair, injuries slowed him down.

I've heard rumors that Reggie was a juicer more than once. No idea if there's any truth to it.

This ARod case is turning into an absolute circus. Selig certainly kicked a hornets nest when he tried to make ARod the scapegoat.

I think they were calling him a doucher, and there's complete truth to it.

Hard to make some one something they have earned in their own right....

Helps to keep your weight down to avoid injuries, but even guys like Eric Davis had trouble with them their whole careers...hard to say what the cause is.
But, when I see guys like Boog Powell or Delgado who were constantly fighting injuries, I can't help but think that being the size of a mall kiosk couldn't have helped.

Yeah, that's one that's out there...Reggie was super cut even as a youngster, though. Kind of built like Dick Allen and Mantle, and I can't say I suspect those guys as roid monsters...some guys are just like that.
Brian Downing, him I suspect a lot.
