07:34 AM ET 10.25 | "I don't know what we're doing," Bo Pelini said Thursday. [Pelini] will wear his poker face for a little longer. Nebraska's football coach said Thursday he expected quarterback Taylor Martinez -- the senior four-year starter who's missed three games with a turf toe injury -- to play in Saturday's 11 a.m. game at Minnesota. But he wouldn't name Martinez the starter, nor rule out playing backups Tommy Armstrong and Ron Kellogg. "It'll be a game-time decision of what we're going to do, but I would anticipate he's going to play," Pelini said of Martinez. ... Martinez missed practice for five weeks, wearing a boot on his left foot to protect the toe. He practiced Sunday and made it through two full-padded workouts this week. He practiced again Thursday, both of his shoes wrapped in tape. Martinez has declined all interview requests until after Saturday's game.

This should be an interesting game. Is Minnie making strides? Last week's win at N'western would suggest that they are improving as the season goes on. Always the sign of a good coaching staff when that happens. Can they upset the 'Huskers? I doubt it, but I didn't l
think they were going to beat Northwestern either.

NW minus Venric Mark & Cain Colter = the NW of old.

I fairness to Taylor, turf toe is one of those nagging injuries that just won't go away.

Frankly, if Pelligrino is doing all this to force Minnie to prepare for multiple offensive options, it says a lot about the growth of the Killer Gs' program.

Nebraska plays at Minnesota this Saturday.

Pelini has done this before, so it's not really news worthy. He also has a little problem with people in Nebraska already being done with Taylor and ready to move on to Armstrong. Martinez turned from being a potential superstar to a mediocre, play it safe, quarterback.
