10:13 AM ET 10.27 | After the Gophers' 34-23 upset of No. 25 Nebraska on Saturday in front of 49,995 spectators at TCF Bank Stadium, Minnesota defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys is 2-0 as acting head coach while Jerry Kill continues treatment for epilepsy. With Claeys in charge on the sideline, the Gophers upset Northwestern 20-17 a week ago in Evanston, Ill. Claeys, 44, who has been an assistant to Kill for 19 years, was asked last week if he has aspirations to be a full-time head coach. "If somebody would approach you, I'd think you'd look at it and see if it's a better thing than what you're doing, if that's the right time in your career," he said. "I think I'm more than capable of doing it. But it would have to be the right situation at the right place. It would be awfully hard to go into coach Kill's office and tell him I'm leaving somewhere after everything the guy's done for me and how good he's been for me for 19 years. "But if someone came along and was interested, then obviously I'd listen."

It will be an interesting offseason. The coaching carousel is already in motion.

Good on you, Coach. Don't know much about you but I appreciate someone who takes advantage of an opportunity and succeeds.

Well he's off to a good start. FN has a good photo of him, kind of in the Charley Weis, Brady Hoke, Mark Mangino mold.

Big Red should if they haven't already go after Jim Tressel. Bo had his shot, Nebraska has been a
9-4 team for much too long now.

The talent is there, yet the Huskers looked lost in that game.
