Real possibility Browns will trade Josh Gordon

11:24 AM ET 10.27 | There is a reason the Browns have refused to tell Josh Gordon that he won't be traded. That's because there is a real possibility he will be traded before Tuesday's 4 p.m. deadline. The Browns are correct in saying they aren't offering Gordon to other teams. There's no need for that. Other teams have been calling the Browns. The phone started ringing the moment the Trent Richardson deal (for the Colts No. 1 pick in 2014) was announced on Sept. 18. The Browns are debating what to do with Gordon because of the receiver's failed drug tests. They know one more bad test and Gordon will be suspended a minimum of a year.

He's on my fantasy team, I hope he goes somewhere that he has a real QB throwing to him.

Unbelieveable that a team with all those high draft picks is having a fire sale.

They already have 5 picks in the first three rounds in the next draft, and their D isn't shabby. Unless Matt Millen is hired as a consultant, I see a bright future as a distinct possibility.

Pretty certain the current regime has decided all those high draft picks suck.

I think the current regime is the group of picks that suck.

So far I'm wrong and Lombardi has been right on ! What do I know?

Those couple wins after they traded Richardson must have thrown a scare into the GM there. Gotta figure new ways to tank the season.

Execs can screw up a draft quite easily.Having many picks is not guarantee of anything.

True, but it increases the odds of getting a good player.

Just keep Matt Millen away from Browns HQ, and for heaven's sake don't let the new owner talk to Jerry Jones or Rick Spielman for advice.

The NFL is a better league when Cleveland is relevant. Good fan base.

Yeah, I can't see how a bunch of early picks is a bad thing.

Also the Browns pulled off that impressive three game win streak with Brian Hoyer, proving that it might not take anything drastic to get Cleveland into the right side of the win/loss column more consistently.

I tend to agree with your original statement that Cleveland has a good chance at a brighter future than some might suspect.

I would give this front office a chance - you can't blame them for trading half the draft for Trent or picking Weeden as the QB of the future. I have no dog in this hunt (not a Cleveland fan or hater) but I think Cleveland's performance with Hoyer and Cambell (brought in by these guys, not the last group) and without Trent (but with an extra 1st round pick next year) bodes well at a time when Pittsburgh is imploding and Baltimore is struggling. With some smart drafts including a legitimate QB, the dogs of the AFCN could become Big Dogs in the AFCN. Don't think I would move Gordon though unless I didn't believe he could stay clean.....
