11:31 AM ET 10.27 | Kevin Harvick unloaded on the Sprint Cup team he is leaving after a wreck with team owner Richard Childress' grandson, Ty Dillon, during Saturday's Camping World Truck Series race. Harvick, who was driving for another team in the Kroger 200, and Dillon were racing for second when their trucks collided and knocked both from contention. Harvick, who is leaving Richard Childress Racing after 13 seasons in Sprint Cup to join Stewart-Haas Racing, implied that nepotism and lineage were factors in his decision. Ty Dillon has raced in the Camping World Truck series the past two seasons and is moving into Nationwide next year to supplant his older brother, Austin, who is expected to move into Sprint Cup and effectively take over the ride being vacated by Harvick.

Not the biggest Harvick fan.. even less of a fan of the Dillon Duo.. snot-nosed brats - IMO.. I'm siding with Harvick in this feud

October 27, 2013  11:59 AM ET

Of course.. Harvick needs to choose who he's calling out a little more carefully.. after all.. those snot-nosed brats are the boss's grandkids

WOW.. 2 'new' threads over the weekend.. must be a 'new' intern at the FN office

But since there are ONLY a handful of races left.. who cares if Harvick ruffles a few feathers at RCR before he leaves??.. might as well burn those bridges now

I was cheering him on.....even though he shouldn't bad mouth his boss to the media........I bet Harvick had been holding that in for a long, long time.

Childress needs to be angrier at the behavior of Austin Dillon.....Dillon was reckless, disrespectful and a danger to others during his tantrum........Harvick was mad too and did not behave the best, but Dillon was far worse.

Hope Newman does not have to babysit little Dillon in 2014.

And someone needs to hide those ridiculous cowboy hats.......they look good on most people, but Dillon is not one of them.

Harvick did issue an apology today for what he said.........but I bet he was holding back a smirk, and trying not to laugh.

Copy that -- some things will never change ...

You know its funny that Harvick is joining Stewart-Hass racing next year because Tony is always feeling up Harvicks wife and patting her on the rump.......or maybe thats why they will be able to spend more time together.

Richard Childress fiercely defended his two grandsons Sunday morning, a day after Childress driver Kevin Harvick called Ty Dillon "a punk-ass kid" after they wrecked at Martinsville Speedway. Harvick's job might be safe but the relationship with Childress, the owner of Richard Childress Racing, soured after he called Childress' grandsons Austin and Ty Dillon spoiled "punks" and "rich kids" following Saturday's race.

"What happened on the track was one thing," Childress said, "but the comments afterwards is where I'm really upset. I'll never apologize for giving my grandsons an opportunity, just like the France family, the Earnhardt family, the Wood brothers. You go down the list of the people that have been given opportunities. All of them didn't make it. You've got to go out and earn what you've got, the opportunity in life to succeed. And these boys earned it."

Childress, who talked with Harvick on Sunday morning, said he is committed to Harvick and the team sponsors for the final four races of the season. "We're going to give him everything humanly possible to win that championship," Childress said.

"I'm committed to him for four more races, just like I committed to him the day that he said he was leaving. I shook his hand and committed I'd give him 100 percent, and I'm going to do it. But I'm not going to be backed into a corner."

I respect Richard for taking up for his grandsons.. blood is always thicker than water.. but doesn't change the fact that both grandsons STILL are punk-asses.. even if Richard doesn't see it that way
