Lions won't trade for Josh Gordon or Kenny Britt

04:54 PM ET 10.27 | Despite having one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, the Detroit Lions need some help at the position. They've been long rumored to be a potential destination for Josh Gordon and/or Kenny Britt, two of the more talented receivers on the market, but according to reports the Lions will not be making a play for either. It was rumored a few weeks ago that the Tennessee Titans were asking for a third-round pick in exchange for Britt, a price no team will pay while the Browns themselves had an elevated asking price for Josh Gordon. Gordon is certainly the more talented of the team, but teams of course are leery of offering such value for a player who is literally one strike away from a potential season ban.

Kind of amazing to think that a team with Calvin Johnson needs help at wide receiver.

With Megatron drawing double-coverage virtually every play, you've got to be a pretty terrible #2 receiver to not produce.

Detroit is for real, but I would've thought they'd try to trade for DB help before WR.

Could be wrong. Lord knows I have this year.

With Megatron out there the Lions barely need any other receivers. The Stafford to Johnson connection is as lethal as any I've seen, especially when they're facing the Cowboys.

Them dudes own the Cowboys, straight up.

I don't know if "own" is the right term, but they've played a couple great games the last couple years. Down to the last minute both times. And Sean Lee is now DPOY-worthy as much as Megatron is OPOY-worthy.

Great win for Detroit, but if Ware was around, I'm convinced Dallas would've won.

Then again, losing a game with a plus-4 turnover differential was harsh. Kiffin is on borrowed time.

Alvin Harper and John Taylor approve this post.

If you can have a game against another NFC team that isn't terrible, and have Megatron roll up 329 yards of receiving, I think you might have more pressing needs than WR to win some more games.
