07:16 AM ET 10.28 | The relative optimism between Lakers veterans Steve Nash and Pau Gasol has gone in different directions this training camp season. Gasol came in unsure if he would be able to participate because of offseason procedures on both of his knees, but ended up leading the team in scoring (13.7 points) while chipping in 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the preseason. Nash came in saying how improved his body was after missing 32 games last season because of a broken leg and hip and groin injuries that stemmed from it, but he was extremely limited. ... "I feel better than what I expected," Gasol said after practice Sunday ahead of the Lakers' regular-season opener Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. "I'm really happy with how I feel right now."

You should look better especially when you touch the ball a lot more. It will be a very big concern if you get all of those touches and can't do anything w/ it.

Of course....its a contract year

Isn't that funny how that works? Maybe all players should have one year contracts only. Imagine how exciting the game would become...

I said a few months ago and I still stand by my opinion, Gasol is one of the top 5/6 centers in the NBA, assuming that is the position that he will be playing this year.

What if half of the fans showing up are Lakers fans?

That would be funny as hell!

LOL, it is a "Laker home game". What would be funny is as soon as the Clippers raise their first Pacific division Banner, the Lakers would drape a cover over the banner.

maybe allow a team to amnesty/buy out a guy every other year?

Absolutely not. No reason to reward stupidity by GMs. Way too many stupid decisions these days.

Clippers opened the door to these shenanigans. I wouldn't blame the Lakers if they did just that!!!

That's what I'm talking about. Doc Rivers opened his mouth, now let's see if the Lakers response.

I don't see Pau as being so soft. It is the Lakers way to have everyone else look common so their egotistical Kobe Brat looks good.
