07:22 AM ET 10.28 | Just because there's no game on the schedule next Saturday doesn't mean Alabama is without a goal for the week. The Crimson Tide hit a speed bump or two through its first few games, but enters the final month of the regular season playing its best football of the year. ... Saban said he challenged the players to "maintain discipline" in all areas of their life during the bye week. The Crimson Tide will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but there won't be an inordinate amount of time devoted to the Tigers. "Our focus during this bye week is improving our team so we have a better chance when we do get ready to play LSU," Saban said. "We'll use the first couple of practices in this bye week just to try to work on things we feel we need to improve on, whether it's offense, defense or special teams."

I'll throw in some ocean front property just outside Phoenix.

I agree we will certainly have an advantage with having a bye and LUS not having one.

Oh wait.....

Just thought I would stop that BS in its tracks. It is just a matter of time before the tards (oh sorry "experts") get on here and spewing some conspiracy about the Bama schedule.

There is something quite sinister about having a bye week before your big games.

October 28, 2013  08:58 AM ET

LUS Oh yea its LSU has a bye also

They need a break from murderer's row.

October 28, 2013  09:25 AM ET

They could focus on how to keep the students in their seats until the end of the game.

Like Bama, LSU has their byes this year before the Bama and Texas A&M game.

But that ends up with LSU playing two games in four weeks. Not sure how that's going to impact (or already has impacted) things.

That's easy -- beer tap dispensers under each seat!

Can't really count a game against Furwoman a game can you?

Simple. Track ticket distro & seat assignments, correlate this to game time film of the student seating section, and ban for the remainder of their matriculation all those who leave early. They receive word of their banishment via physical note, quoting LVs admonishment and autopenned with his signature.

Bama's schedule: host LUS, @ Miss State, host Chattanooga, and closes out @Auburn. Now, @Auburn offers some intrigue. SoBammerlings are just as weird as their Crimson counterparts (just plain "Bammers"). Given what transpired at Toomer's corner, they could burn LV in effigy there.

So, then, IMO....

1. Students would only go to the games that are of interest in fear of losing their seats altogether.

2. Make the students spiteful of the football team since they are forced to stay for the entire game when they are winning 62-0....(most students don't usually go to a particular school just because of the football team).

3. Have fans in the seats paying no attention to the game (which would not pay well on television)
