Greg Schiano: Bucs ask Mike Glennon to throw too much

06:35 PM ET 10.28 | For the fourth straight game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon tossed more than 43 passes on Thursday night (he actually threw 51) en route to his fourth straight loss at the helm. It's something that head coach Greg Schiano is not happy with, suggesting that the team has asked Glennon to throw the ball far too often. Of course, constantly trailing by double digits will force your quarterback into a lot of unfavorable throwing situations. Add in the fact that you've lost running back Doug Martin (who wasn't doing much regardless) and you have a recipe for a team without a win.

Soooo... Schiano thinks the Bucs are making Glennon throw too often. And, frequently, when people speak that way, they are talking about the coaches. And Greg Schiano is the Head Coach, which means that he's in charge of all the coaches. So, basically, Schiano is admitting he's doing a lousy job.

And who is calling for the passes, someone in the stands?

October 28, 2013  10:47 PM ET

Bo Pelini thinks Schiano is doing a great job.

I believe what he's saying is that the game's situations are causing him to throw more than he'd prefer, which is a knock on the D. As the article states, being down double digits will keep the passing game pumping.

Most would agree they're asking Schiano to coach too much.

That's a good comparison. Throw in Brian Kelly and you have nailed down the lunatic fringe.

These hard nosed college coaches just don't work out in the NFL. Dude needs to take his **** back to Rutgers where he belongs, assuming they'd have him back.

This team doesn't have any offensive depth.

Once again ...... dump Schiano and bring in Ronde Barber. He's a smart guy with good composure and lots of football sense. Nowhere in the land would you find anyone the TB players respect more. He could snap the locker room back together in 10 minutes.

Probably need an injunction barring Tiki though.

Actually the decision is between the beer guy and the hot dog vendors. They yell 'throw the bomb you bums' and Schiano does.
