07:20 AM ET 10.29 | As his former team continues its playoff run, Kevin Youkilis has his own future about which to worry. [Youkilis'] 2013 season with the Yankees was wrecked by back surgery, but the infielder will be back in the free agent market this winter with no physical issues, his agent says. "He's fine," said Joe Bick, Youkilis' representative. "Had the Yankees made it to the postseason, there's a pretty good chance he would've been ready to play. He shouldn't have any issues whatsoever going forward. It's a normal off-season; just try to figure out where he's playing." Bick says he's had no conversations with the Yankees about a potential return. It's unclear whether the Yanks, who'll need insurance at third base, will be interested. Youkilis, who will be 35 in March, played in only 28 games last season.

You have a lot of factors against you - age and back surgery, so maybe some AL team will give you a look at minimum salary and incentives.

Had the Yankees made it to the postseason??? LMAO...that's a good one!!!

He's was kind of t.urd to sign that one year deal w/ the Yankees. Move on or retire but I expect it to be a very small blurp on the map w/ either decision.

Hate those camera closeups when he's at bat.

No thanks. Maybe the Yankees should cry conspiracy like Sox fans did when Ramiro Mendoza signed up there.

His agent says he is fine now and going forward. Humpty Dumpty's's agent said the same thing after he fell.

That worked out just as well as Youk did for the Yanks.

Everyone knows Joe Torre throws his favorite bullpen guys until their arms fall off. Just ask Mendoza, Scott Proctor, Jeff Nelson, Mike Stanton, Jason Grimsley...... When the Yankees are done with bullpen guys, they either stink or are about to stink. Torre wasn't as bad as Dusty Baker but they each destroyed arms in their own way. No one should have signed Mendoza or Stanton and poor Scott Proctor got to go to LA and ended up with Torre again.

Just what every team needs - an 35 year old injury prone 3rd baseman. He'll be lucky to get an invitation to some team's spring training to try to make the roster as a back up.

Someone will offer him a contract. A young AL team looking for veteran leadership. He can probably still platoon and DH if his back is actually healed up but he'd be a part-time player, at best.

Maybe a reunion there with Tito in Cleveland.
