07:28 AM ET 10.29 | Darcy Regier wouldn't sugarcoat the obvious: The Sabres are in rebuilding mode. Of course the biggest question surrounding the Sabres' roster has to do with [Ryan Miller], the 33-year-old goalie who has been a franchise cornerstone since he became the starter in 2005-06. Miller is in the final season of a US$31.25-million, five-year deal and figures to generate significant interest in the trade market. "I think any time a player plays better, you get more and when he plays poor, you get less," [GM Darcy Regier] said. ... Miller has a no-trade clause that allows him to block a move to eight teams. Asked if he had received any inquiries about Miller, Regier said: "I probably talk to a third of the league of my counterparts on a weekly basis. You end up talking about a lot of things."

he is definitely a top end goalie, but he's not the type i would give up a ton of prospects and picks for his services. He has been on a decline, was feared years ago as a goalie who could win you games, but seems to be very beatable now.

The next Buffalo blockbuster?

More of a "B" movie really.

Yep. Old washed up goalie, down on his luck looking for that one last shot at glory. I can almost see him in Philadelphia now.

You can be so cruel. But, accurate too. :-)

Who knows.....drop him behind a team with a decent defense he may shine again.

The only way that happens is if he makes Team USA but there are a couple of other, quite capable goalies standing in his way.

Problem is, the teams he would like to go to probably don't want him. And, the way he's been playing ....

I though you said 'one last shot at glory.' Philadelphia's a place to go if a goalie wants to bury his career.

If i'm a GM in the goalie market, Anaheim's my first call and Jonas Hiller my first choice.

As much as I'd like to, I can't disagree with you.

Wow, what did Miller ever do to you?

I don't know. Pittsburgh, with all its abandoned still mills and deserted coal mines, looks like a good place too.
