LeBron may stay for Spo

07:19 AM ET 10.30 | Three years ago, LeBron James and Erik Spoelstra were essentially strangers when they entered into what began as a sometime uneasy partnership. So much of Miami's future is uncertain, but James has to understand the best reason for him to stay the course is the fact that Spoelstra isn't joining him on the market. On the eve of training camp, Spoelstra signed a four-year contract extension. The message was unmistakable: If James wants the stability that comes with continuity and trust, with elite ownership, executives and a coach, there's no reason for him to leave Miami. "They're more intertwined than they've ever been," says a league source closely connected to James and Spoelstra. "LeBron knows he plays for one of the elite coaches in the game, and that maybe wasn't the case when he got there."

Staying for your coach is as good a reason as any.

Come To LA, Bro.

These 2 are now inseparable. They have so much trust in each other and Lebron really respects Spo a lot more. Props to Lebron for keeping the faith especially during the tough first year.

Correct - That first year there was no respect for the young coach - It almost looked like Padre Riles was about to take over the coaching reins.... Again...

"LeBron may stay for Spo"...

Damn, that's some loyalty. And if it's true, the Heat are handcuffed to Spo. Granted he's coached with much success for three seasons but if things turn around and LBJ wants him there, Miami can make no changes.

Damn Jack, you're recruiting everyone today...

For someone that never really had a Dad, all he needs is somewhere to feel like he belongs to a family and I think Spo, Riley and the entire Miami organization have fulfilled that need for him. So yes... Lebron aint going nowhere. He needs the support and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that.

Isn't that the basic element of being a team - support and trust? For all the crap Lebron took for leaving Cleveland he has now found a place where he can be part of a team. Good for him - not everyone gets lucky enough to be drafted into an organization that can build one

Wont turn around...

Spo is a good coach and has obviously got the best out of Miami.

Lets not forget that Spo is the one who scrapped their "traditional" style after the 1st title and went to their current style of "small ball"...

He also pushed Lebron into the post.

This team is going to be incredibly tough to beat and if Oden can get into the mix with 15-20 minutes a night, they will be even tougher.

Even if Miami does not win this season, Lebron has no reason to leave and would be silly to do so because it will be hard for ANY franchise to get 3 stars together like that ever again.

I think it depends if Miami wins championship this season..
If they, maybe Lebron will stay, and if not it will be a question
