Twins eyeing Suk-min Yoon

07:22 AM ET 10.30 | Whether the Twins actually make a strong play for Korean righty Suk-min Yoon hasn't been made official. What seems clear at this point is that Yoon, an international free agent represented by powerful agent Scott Boras, is on their radar. "He's got some talent," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said recently. Mike Radcliff, Twins vice president for player personnel, added recently that the team was "fully engaged" in the Yoon process after watching him pitch numerous times in Korea and on the world stage at such events as the Olympics and the World Baseball Classic. There had been talk of a showcase for Yoon, 27, but Radcliff made it sound as though the Twins had already placed a value on him. "It doesn't really matter to us," Radcliff said. "We've watched him forever."

Going to Minnesota he will Suk!

He might do well in Minnesota, he's coming from a cold climate.

Is it just me or does Scott Boras look like Jeff Loria?

Is this the Korean pitcher the Yankees are also looking at?
If so, looks like Boras is staging another auction!

Was always going to order that on the menu. The Suk was just too close to Suuucckk so I never have.

All his clients go to the highest bidder.

For sure, but what puzzles me is how he stage manages the GMs into bidding wars by starting the rumors, creating the Buzz, and they fall into it every time?

Lost me when I saw Boras... Leave him in Korea....

Do some homework on the guy. He hurt his shoulder (not the first time; HUGE red flag) this season and was converted to a reliever. Not sure what his status is from a health perspective. He throws low 90s (if that) with a usual repertoire of pitches (change, curve, slider). Nothing special. He is not dominant - his K rates aren't remarkable - and he is not a control guy against weak competition.

So what do you have here? Just a dime a dozen pitcher. He's nothing like Ryu of the Dodgers, who many will comp against. Ryu is a power lefty who was "dominant" in Korea. If a team wants to pursue this guy and overpay him, go ahead. But why risk it? His upside is an average MLB starter. His downside is AA fodder. It's nice to bring in international talent but there's plenty of durable starters available on the market.

I feel like there are a ton of dirty jokes to be found in this guy's name but I can't quite put them together.

And about his ethnicity in general, atleast if you're a Cardinals fan that is.
