QB controversy a ploy at Ohio State

07:28 AM ET 10.30 | It has been nearly a month now since Kenny Guiton took off his headset and started to warm up on the sideline. That was when there was still a perceived quarterback controversy at Ohio State, one that would have been taken to an entirely new level had Urban Meyer actually subbed the backup quarterback into the game in place of the struggling Braxton Miller. But Meyer didn't, and Miller led Ohio State to a 40-30 win over Northwestern to keep the Buckeyes perfect season in tact. ... It has now been 24 days since there's been a quarterback controversy. "I don't think it's a coincidence," Meyer said. Perhaps Meyer never really intended to put Guiton into the game. How close he was to removing Miller, who committed three costly turnovers against the Wildcats, will only be truly known by him.

There's no controversy at Ohio State......Miller is the starter and Guiton is an excellent back-up, and if he has to come in and replace Miller, the Buckeyes do not lose a step and if nothing else become even more Dangerous

If you have two quarterbacks, you don't have any.

Works for Northwestern. This is an old saw but sometimes it is not true.

Meyer is under some pressure. He knows he cannot just beat the other teams, he has to beat them by 40.

October 30, 2013  10:55 AM ET

Its another sneaky ploy by coach Meyer alright, he needs to resort to trickery to keep the mighty Boilermakers off balance.

Buckeyes don't need no trickery unlike some schools.....they just cram it down your throat plain and simple.

Should be talking Wisky @ Iowa if they want to see some B1G big boy action. That will be a slugfest. Hopefully we can get some drizzle, winds and gun metal gray skies with a high around 41.

The way football was meant to be played.

I can't wait to see tOSU go undefeated and get shut out of the NCG because of their weak schedule. Go Ducks!
