08:00 PM ET 10.30 | The Dallas Cowboys have gotten some good news, running back DeMarco Murray is returning to practice this week. This is a good sign, but we still won't know what capacity he participated in until later in the day. Murray has been recovering from a knee injury. The Cowboys need Murray back in the lineup. Without him, the Cowboys run game has struggled. Last week against the Detroit Lions, the Cowboys running backs rushed for 50 yards in the game. Rookie Joseph Randle, who has been primarily filling in for Murray, rushed for 26 yards on 14 attempts. That is less than two yards a carry. Randle was better the prior week against the Philadelphia Eagles. In that game he carried the ball 19 times for 65 yards, an average of 3.4 yards per carry. In the game that Murray was hurt in, Randle carried the ball 11 times for 17 yards. Murray has been a reliable back when healthy, he has 91 carries for 428 yards this season, an average of 4.7 yards per carry. The issue has always been his durability. As of now, it looks like Murray is close to playing on Sunday.

Otis will either be pleased or just not have the energy to care anymore.

I think Otis is ahead of the curve. He's already thinking about the possibilities (if any) in 2014.

Since when the Eagles are a measuring stick?

Not with this guy, just like Miles Austin. Cannot count on them.

The 'Boys will win one, lose one, win one, lose won and finally they'll lose that last one and Otis can relax until next year.

Cowboys will be $31 million over the cap next season... Me thinks he's still holding on to '13.

I thought Dez Bryant was raising hell on the sidelines, and I was wrong though.

Many people had that all wrong.

I would have no problem trimming that salary cap for next year. Non what-so-ever. My new coaching staff would be like rich kids in a candy store.

murray is not durable or reliable. and dallas should make getting a new RB next season a goal. when murray does finally get back on the field, the season will be nearing the end or he will come back soon only to find another injury. he's talented, but like his college days..... can't take the beating of a full season.
