07:26 AM ET 10.31 | Part II of the Mike Brown Era opened in fine fashion against the new-look Nets on Wednesday, to the tune of a 98-94 win. [New Jersey plays] in Brooklyn and they're expected to contend for something cool. So the Nets are bound to be shoved in our face all season. But the Cavs were the story on this night, with Bynum returning to the court for the first time since 2011-12, and the Cavs displaying grit, guts and an ability to make some big plays despite fielding what's still a fairly young team. Oh, it wasn't pretty. As Brown said, "It was ugly, which I'm OK with." He once used the word "grimy" to describe the evening, as if he needed a shower after watching it. Then again, this is Brown we're talking about. The nastier the better.

Good win for the caves.Bad loss for Boston

Yup - Good one but speaks more volumes about the proclaimed "World-Beaters" Brooklyn Nets...

Deron Williams is the key but he's got balky kankles dating back from last season's difficulties with both of them....

Their margin for error is miniscule, just a couple of injuries away form being a lottery team.

Bynum is back

Not so much a lottery team but a very expensive mediocre team...

Not quite, but once he is look out. Andy can go back the the 4 where he belongs and this team can make the playoffs. And they're gonna grind for 82 games. Welcome home, Mike Brown.

Bynum is what this team need.

Kyrie def had an off night shooting...but 15pts 9assists 7 boards 2 steals and only 2 turnovers is not terrible.....

im telling you- get on the TT bandwagon while you still can- this kid looks TOTALLY different...bigs take a couple years to develop and for you to know what you have

Thompson is the real deal

Andy is better suited coming off the bench

QUOTE(#14):

Congrats Cavs fans. You waited patiently and now you have a team again! Nice first win.If Bynum stays healthy we will no longer talk about the Cavs making the pkayoffs, but rather who will they beat to get to the second round. Bynum is a game changer.

Don't give them false hope bro. The Cavs are getting better but they have a long way to go to reach the elite class like Miami and San Antonio.

If not this year then the next or the next after that but no later than the last year...

The Cavs are a playoff team this year.

1. Bennett couldn't make a shot....but he rebounded well; Waiters had an OK game; Irving had a rough ride....I wouldn't say that any of them had a "horrible" game.

2. Thompson had a strong showing!

3. The Cavs SHOULD be a playoff team. It should be considered a disappointment if they don't make their way in.

..........get waiters OUT of the starting lineup and make him the sixth manhe can't guard #1 sgs - he's way too small let him come off the bench and feast on the other teams 2ndary players

Agreed.

Between the two of them, I say C.J. Miles is the better over-all player.
